| Officiant:
We have been invited here today to
share with Michael and Catharine a most important moment in their lives. In the
time that they have been together, their love and understanding of each other
has grown. Now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and
wife.
Michael and Catharine, you are about
to make promises to one another. Today, these vows are beautiful words
representing even more beautiful intentions. You will find that as you live
these vows over the years, investing your time, your love and your commitment
to one another, the happy times of your life will have twice the joy because
there will be someone to share them with, and when life gets tough, it will
only be half as bad because there will be someone by your side to help carry
the burden.
To make your marriage work will take
Love. Love should be the core of your marriage; love is the reason you are
here.
But it will also take trust – to
know in your hearts you want the best for each other.
It will take dedication – to stay
open to one another; to learn and grow together even when this is not always
easy to do.
It will take faith – to always be
willing to go forward to tomorrow, never really knowing what tomorrow will
bring.
And it will take commitment – to
hold true to the journey you both now pledge to share together-
Michael, repeat after me:
I , Michael, take you Catharine, to
be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for
worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish
'till death do us part.
(Placing Ring): With this ring, I
thee wed.
Catharine, repeat after me:
I Catharine, take you Michael, to be
my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for
worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish
'till death do us part.
(Placing Ring): With this ring, I
thee wed.
***********SAND
CEREMONY************
"Today, this
relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual
containers of sand one, (Officiant hands Bride her sand) representing you Catharine and all that you were,
all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing
you, (Officiant hands Groom his sand) Michael, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will
ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container,
the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined
together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured
again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be."
((((((((((((Then
you will alternate pouring the sand into the bottle until it's full- after it
is full, we return to the rest of the ceremony-)))))))
As you have consented together to be
bound to one another in marriage, you have made special promises to each other
which have been symbolized by the joining of hands, the exchanging of vows and
by the giving and receiving of rings. By the authority vested in me
according to the laws of the state of Florida, I now pronounce you husband and
wife!
You may kiss the bride!!
The Sand Ceremony vows were added into our sample vows.
If you did not order a sand ceremony, they will not be included.
